Born 24 March 1950, he was the second son of Joe and Evelyn Applegarth of Hopedale, Ohio. He was severly injured in a motorcycle accident in Jefferson County, Ohio and died in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He was married (and later divorced) to JoAnn Vargo and had one son, Brian William. Bill is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Harrison County, Ohio.
